Day 10 Renovations

Today is a trip to the USA for cheaper gas and mud. Later on we get the scoop on the spider. Enjoy:

Day 8-9 Jen & Gary Home Renovations

Today we have an exclusive interview with the contractor. Then we get some real lessons on mudding drywall and what to watch out for.

Renovations Day 7

Drywall mudding is the order of today.

Renovations Day 6

Today was a slow day. We did not start until noon. Gary had to watch Coronation Street and I had to do some computer stuff. We did get the drywall installed and most of the wiring.

Renovations Day 5

Today was a slow day. Wiring the recessed lighting. The lights had to go back as there were no brackets. End result today is that we got the wiring working. Tomorrow we finish installing drywall and with some luck we can get the sub floor in.

Renovations Day 4

Today Gary comes home to help out. The floor is removed and some mudding has begun…Another load from the USA for cabinets arrives.

Renovations Day 3

Today was wiring. We took out some old wiring and installed new wire. New junction boxes are being prepared for the recessed lighting.

Renovations Day 2

Here we take out the bulkheads and ready them for drywall. We also test the plywood flooring to see how tough it is to take up for the new sub flooring.

Michael Geno is the President for Michigan Council Of The Blind and Visually Impaired. RETIREMENT – No Life Like It

I spent 20 years watching people retire. As a union rep I negotiated retirement packages in Toronto. I saw grown men almost cry when they found out they had to leave.
When retirement age was still 65 most did not want to retire.
When it changed to 50 many were fighting to get [...]

Free Office Programs
If you are scratching your head, wondering what exactly is a “Google”, you have either just dropped in from another planet, or you have lead a very sheltered life. In reality, the vast majority of people in this hemisphere are Googling. Do you use Google for searching out your favourite anythings? If [...]

The Governments Must Step In Now

WRITE YOUR GOVERNMENT REP NOW AND COMPLAIN – ASK WHY US?

“Here in the Mississippi Delta, some farm workers are borrowing money from their bosses so they can fill their tanks and get to work. Some are switching jobs for shorter commutes.
People are giving up meat so they can buy fuel. Gasoline theft is rising. And [...]

GM Layoffs – CBC Readers Off the Mark

The post write ups from readers in this article are sad.
CBC posted an article on their website about the General Motors layoffs in Oshawa. The readers’ comments are off the mark and self centred to say the least. They need to take off their inherent blinders.
Fine I say…But what about the lack of action [...]

Green Planet – A Long Journey

Are We All Doing What We Can To Reduce?
To be honest, most of us can do more, no doubt. However, it would be nice to see corporations and governments doing more. That would set the example.
How about the tons of waste in packaging. I buy a box of cereal. The cashier wants give me a [...]

Our big truck, Chevy Avalanche is parked – awaiting a cheap fill up.
I have had thoughts of buying a brand new SUV and a brand new full sized, loaded to the hilt, pickup truck and storing them away as a future investment. Museums [...]
