RETIREMENT – No Life Like It

I spent 20 years watching people retire. As a union rep I negotiated retirement packages in Toronto. I saw grown men almost cry when they found out they had to leave.

When retirement age was still 65 most did not want to retire.

When it changed to 50 many were fighting to get out; like prisoners planning an escape.

Although, there are many, once retired, who return to work out of boredom.

We are only here for a visit; why waste time working if you don’t have to? It just does not make sense why a person can do whatever they want each remaining day of their lives…And they choose to WORK…What a waste…
